December 2021 – The stage is set for Francis Walsh Intermediate School’s 2021-22 season and beyond! And, those of us who love live theater know, there is an enormous amount of preparation that goes into every performance. That all important foundation or stage must be set before the actors even set foot on it.
That is why Antinozzi Associates Architecture and Interiors was delighted with this fabulous photo taken by Woodruff Brown Architectural Photography. We thought this was the perfect photo to showcase a project, now completed, that was near and dear to our hearts for the past five years.
Having been awarded the commission to provide design and construction administration services to completely renovate 30% of the existing structure as well as replace 70% of the facility with a new academic addition, Antinozzi Associates happily set the stage for the Francis Walsh Intermediate School to shine for the 2021-22 school year and well into the future!
The Walsh renovation and rebuilding project team included Paul Antinozzi, AIA; Michael LoSasso, AIA, LEED|AP BD+C; Kevin Matis, LEED|AP; Patti McKeon, NCIDQ, IIDA, WELL AP; Kevin Gatzke, Architectural Designer; Brittney Dishian, Senior Registered Interior Designer; and Leo Gutierrez, Assistant Project Manager. Additionally, the Antinozzi Associates consultant team included Colliers International, Consulting Engineering Services (CES), e2engineering, Fusco, JaffeHolden, Langan, Raymond/Raymond Associates, Stantec, and Theater Design Inc.
This Antinozzi Associates team had their work cut out for them. Construction of the school was phased and it was able to remain in operation throughout the entire process. Orchestrating the full ensemble of Antinozzi players and partnering consultants was a finely crafted effort and could not have been accomplished without the support and collaboration of the Town of Branford, The Public Building Commission of Branford, the Branford Board of Education, and Branford Public Schools.
All the players are delighted with the results!
