DESCRIPTION
New London High School will be an Interdistrict magnet school attracting students from surrounding communities. The $108M project will house 1,775 students in grades 6-12 following three academic pathways: STEM, Arts, and IB (International Baccalaureate).

FEATURES
The plan consisted of an 80,000SF addition that was designed for the front of the existing school to improve the curb appeal along Jefferson Avenue.

The existing four-story classroom was renovated to house the programmatic needs of the Arts Pathway. Entirely new envelope and MEP infrastructure was created. The existing assembly wing consisting the gymnasium, auditorium, pool, and ancillary spaces was also renovated to new. The existing walls and general layout remain the same but the work included all new finishes, MEP/FP, and roof.

The construction occurred in Phases. The first phase was the construction of the new parking lot, bus loop, parent drop-off on the southern side of the existing school. Phase two was the new addition with renovations to the existing Gymnasium Building. The final Phase is the renovation of the academic building.
