The Post Hotel brings new life to a historic 1892 landmark in downtown Bridgeport, blending original red brick charm with a modern five-story addition. This 36-room boutique hotel creates a striking dialogue between old and new—contrasting the ornate façade with clean modern lines while preserving the architectural integrity of both.
Connected by a transparent glass “gasket,” the two structures share a unified interior. A vertical lightwell channels daylight and fresh air through the new tower, ending in a ground-floor courtyard and outdoor dining plaza. Inside, exposed brick, large arched windows, and window-like light cutouts reflect the site’s industrial past.
Opening in 2026, the 27,252-square-foot hotel will offer guest rooms in both the original building and the new tower, along with retail, a café, speakeasy-style lounge, rooftop bar, and a restaurant led by Chef Roshara “Chef Ro” Sanders. Street-level glazing and reopened windows activate surrounding alleys and reinforce the hotel’s connection to the neighborhood.
Approved by the Connecticut State Historic Preservation Office, the Post Hotel celebrates revitalization, community, and a bold architectural vision for Bridgeport’s future.
